MISSION:
Empower the women and the marginalized communities by providing livelihood opportunities, training and integrating them into mainstream society through continuous advocacy.
OBJECTIVES:
- Provide shelter and education to the abandoned children for their comprehensive development.
- Facilitate the processes to restore their childhood.
- Create space bringing out their hidden talents and skills of the neglected children.
- Equip the children dropped out from schools to resume their school education.
- Cultivate the attitude of empathy among the school going children towards children who were abandoned or were compelled to be child labourers.
- Motivate such children to compete with other children by instilling confidence in them.
- Promote the concept of Train-the-Trainer by which a learned student teaches another student to get the trainee also as trainer.
- Bring in awareness among the public at wider level that child labour is illegal and education is fundamental right of every child.
We provide training to the members of women Self Help Group (SHG). We motivate by training the youth and women of underprivileged communities to press their own efforts for the welfare of their self and communities. We train them on accounting, data keeping, applying to get subsidized loans from banks, etc. More than 1000 women benefit through our trainings every year. They learn to do tailoring works, spinning works, power loom based subsidiary works, rope making, household articles making, etc. We facilitate beneficiaries to get assistances for their sustainable livelihood post trainings.
We provide awareness programs to panchayat representatives about sanitary worker's health, educational development of sanitary worker's children, sanitation development in rural and urban areas, etc. Through these sessions, elected panchayat presidents and ward members become better leadership visionaries for inclusive growth.
Vizhuthugal Field Coordinators and volunteers visit slum areas and colonies of marginalized sections periodically. Our coordinators and volunteers organize camps to marginalized communities in slum areas. By personal visits, we guide and support the underprivileged to get them socially protected. Ration card, Aadhaar card, community certificate, birth certificate, welfare card of the government, Insurance coverage, Old Age Pension (OAP) Card and housing patta are few of their many social protection needs we support to bring in improvement in their lives. More than 1,000 persons get benefitted every year by our endeavors.
